- 为政者立科条、发号令,宁宽些儿,只要真实行,永久行。若法极精密而督责不严、综核不至,总归虚弥,反增烦扰。此为政者之大戒也。

- 为政者贵因时。事在当因,不为后人开无故之端；事在当革,不为后人长不救之祸。
- 为政者非谓得行即行,以可行则行耳。有得行之势而昧可行之理,是位以济其恶也,君子谓之贼。
- 为政要使百姓大家相安,其大利害当兴革者不过什一,外此只宜行所无事,不可有意立名建功以求烜赫之誉。故君子之建白,以无智名勇功为第一。至于雷厉风行,未尝不用,譬之天道,然以冲和镇静为常,疾风迅雷间用之而已。
